A good haircut, done right.

I’m Greg Zrust, a barber and hairstylist in St. Paul. I work one-on-one, keep things relaxed, and focus on giving people a haircut or beard trim that feels right for them.

A pretty simple approach, really.

Which guy are you?

For the guy who wants to look put together without trying.

A lot of people are not looking for a dramatic transformation. They just want to look cleaner, sharper, and a little more pulled together.

That usually means a haircut that works in real life. Something that looks good at work, still feels like you, and grows out in a way that doesn't fall apart after a week.

Here is a tight skin fade "Down to the Wood" and a beard trim matched into it perfectly. Finish it off with some paste, then its good all day.

For the guy who cares about his beard.

Beard trims can go wrong pretty fast when they're rushed.

A good beard trim should feel balanced and natural. Clean where it should be clean, fuller where it should be fuller, and shaped in a way that works with your face and haircut.

I have done thousands of beard trims, and have heard hundreds of stories of "the last place really messed it up!"

Why would any guy want to risk that?

Zrust, you can Trust.

For the guy who’s tired of rolling the dice.

Some people end up here because they've had too many random haircuts. Different place, different person, different result every time.

That gets old.

A lot of what I do comes down to consistency. Paying attention. Remembering what worked last time. Tweaking things when needed, but not starting from scratch every visit unless that's what you want.

Here is a cool haircut, I call it the Modern Stud Cut.

A bit longer on top, medium along the sides, tapered on the bottom and sides. Its uniquely textured throughout to create movement and charisma. looks awesome and is great for getting Lucky...

Haircuts that feel like you.

Undercut

I have traveled around Europe a lot, and noticed a lot of guys sporting Undercuts. Top long but very textured along the edges, sides super short. They are look really cool. No wonder guys in Europe love them..

I have been doing them now for 5-6 years, one of my favorites.

Dapper Cut

This is for the person who likes a more polished look.

The sides and back stay tight, the part is more defined, and the top can be worn a little longer or more medium length depending on your hair and how you like to style it. It's clean, controlled, and put together without feeling too fussy.

Longer Cut

Not everybody wants to go short.

If you like having more length, that can absolutely work too. The key is giving it shape, movement, and just enough structure so it doesn't feel heavy or aimless.

When I started out in the late 70's, this was my everyday sort of haircut. Guys in Rock bands and cool dudes wanting to be Rock Stars. I did a lot of them, and got really good. All scissors, slide texture cutting and blow dried the hair. Add some paste, some hairspray, then out and about!

Bring in a few ideas if you want, and we can talk through what makes sense for your hair and how you like to wear it.

Bring me what you’ve got. We’ll figure it out.

If you’ve been putting off trying somebody new, I get it. A bad haircut can stick with you for a while. But if you’re tired of the way your hair looks now, or you feel like your style’s been stuck in the ’80s or ’90s a little too long, I can help with that.

I’ve got a lot of ideas, and I’ve got books and photos we can look through if that helps. If there’s a haircut you’ve seen on TV, in a magazine, on a soccer player, or wherever, bring in a picture. That usually makes things a lot easier. We can take a look at it together, and I’ll tell you honestly whether that exact cut will work for your hair. If not, I can usually put a spin on it that fits your hair and your face shape better.

I’ve been doing this a long time, and I’ve got quite a bit more experience than the average stylist at a chain salon or spa. There’s a quote I’ve always liked: it takes a year to learn 90 percent of your trade, and a lifetime to learn the last 10 percent. There’s a lot of truth in that.

When you come to me, I’m the one doing the whole haircut, start to finish. You’re not getting passed off to somebody else halfway through. And when I’m done, I’m still paying attention to the little things, eyebrows, ear hair, cleanup, finishing touches, the right product, all the details that make the haircut feel complete.
